Welcome to Self-Belief. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Self-Belief ("we", "us") governing your use of the Self-Belief app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Self-Belief is (and is not)

Self-Belief is a reflection and self-trust coaching app. It offers AI-generated reflections, prompts, reminders, and tools to help you build self-trust.

Self-Belief is not a medical, mental-health, or crisis service, and it is not a substitute for professional care, diagnosis, or treatment. It does not provide medical or psychological advice. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately (in the US and Canada, call or text 988).

2. AI-generated content

Responses, reminders, and suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not appropriate for your situation. Use your own judgment, and do not rely on the Service for important decisions. You are responsible for how you act on anything the Service provides.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your login secure, and for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes your account and associated data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: - use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to harm yourself or others; - attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems; - abuse, automate, or attempt to circumvent usage limits; - submit content that violates the rights of others.

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms.

6. Subscriptions and billing

The Service offers an optional paid subscription ("Premium") that unlocks additional features.

• Auto-renewal. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period (for example, monthly) and your payment method is charged for the next period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Price and period are shown clearly in the app before you purchase. Prices may change; we will give notice of changes as required by applicable rules and the app stores.
• Billing is handled by Apple. Purchases are processed through your Apple App Store account using Apple In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your payment details.
• Cancellation. You can cancel anytime in your Apple App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access continues until then.
• No free trial. We do not currently offer a free trial. If we introduce one, its terms (length, the price after it ends, and the deadline to cancel to avoid a charge) will be disclosed before you sign up.
• Refunds are handled according to Apple App Store policies.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of what you write in the Service. You grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (including sending it to our AI provider to generate responses, as described in our Privacy Policy). We do not sell your content.

8. Our content

The app, its design, text, original frameworks, quotes, and branding are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from them without permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content will be accurate or helpful for your situation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your place of residence to the extent required by applicable consumer-protection law; otherwise by the laws applicable where the Service operator is located, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
